Penn State Extension Webinars

Joins us for *FREE* programs and learn practical knowledge. All Free Webinars are used with permission from the Penn State Extension Office and are offered for educational purposes. Some information may not be appropriate for children. Parental guidance is encouraged. Views and opinions expressed in the webinars are those of the speakers/educators and do not necessarily reflect those of the New Florence Community Library. During live sessions there may be opportunities to ask questions and/or chat.

Readers in Stitches

Readers in Stitches meets every Wednesday (except for when the library is closed, December 25th and January 1st). Not a Book Club or a Craft Class. Come and bring whatever you’re stitching, knitting, crocheting, etc. Talk about what you’re reading or watching, and what you’re making. Get the 411 on new stuff coming into the library and get help with reading e-books or listening to e-audiobooks on the Libby app.

Seed Library Week

April 21st to 26th. Stop in for seeds and some free supplies (while supplies last). Programming includes webinars from the Penn State Extension: "Flower Gardening in Small Spaces", Wednesday, April at 7:00pm and "Introduction to Preserving", Thursday, April 24th at 12:00pm.

Seed Library Open House

Saturday, April 26th from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Programming includes webinars: "Pennsylvania Invasive Species Species: Ticks - Nuisances and Invaders" at 10:30am & 2:30pm and "Forest Farming: Introduction to Ramps and Wild Leeks" at 11:30am & 3:30pm. Also more limited gardening supplies (while supplies last)

Reading Time with Storytime

2nd & 3rd Wednesdays at 5:00pm to 6:00pm for the school year.

Kids can gain confidence, improve reading skills, or just unwind by reading to Storytime, a lovable Labrador Retriever and certified therapy dog. Sign-up for a 15 minute session.

There's an Oil for That

A new activity for our Activity Days & Nights monthly programming, "There's an Oil for That" is an monthly workshop where you can try out and lean about essential oils . These will be introductory and educational. If you don't know anything about essential oils and how they can replace a lot of the toxic chemicals you currently use, then stop by and ask questions. You can also learn about the dōTERRA company and how they source and make their oils. Sign Up at the library for text message reminders from Kim.
